The House
Privacy notice
Last updated 23 October 2026
ANAMCARA is a fine-jewelry house based in Gent, with private appointments in Asheville and New York. This notice explains what personal information we collect when you visit this website, write to us, book an appointment, join the letters from the house, or buy a piece, and how we use it. “We” means ANAMCARA. The site, the letters, and those conversations are the services.
Our terms of use govern a purchase and the use of the site. This notice governs personal information. Practices can differ where local law requires a different rule. Those additions are at the end.

1. Information we collect
What you give us
We collect what you choose to send, including when you:
- place an order or commission a piece;
- ask for a repair, a resize, or care;
- write through Message Us, leave a note on a story, or book a private appointment or a commission;
- ask us to send your path by email or by text, or save that path;
- join the letters from the house with an email address or a phone number;
- tell us a size, a stone preference, or the story you want a piece to carry.
That information may include your name, email address, phone number, delivery and billing details, the pieces you enquire about, and the contents of your messages. When you send a message, book an appointment, ask for your path by email or text, save a path, or join the letters, we store the email address or phone number you gave us in our own database. Please do not send a full payment-card number in a message. Payment is taken through the method shown at checkout or on your invoice.
What the site collects on its own
When you browse, the site receives technical details such as browser type, device type, pages viewed, the page that referred you, and an approximate location derived from your IP address. We use this to keep the site available. If you accept non-essential cookies, we also measure clicks and how far a page is scrolled, and we may record a session replay of that visit: the path you took, and where you clicked. Those recordings and measurements do not receive the email address or phone number stored in our database. The tools that do this stay off until you accept them in the cookie bar. Cookies are described below.
What we receive from others
A payment provider may confirm that a payment succeeded. A carrier may confirm delivery. If someone sends you a gift, they may give us your name and address so the piece can reach you.
What we note ourselves
We keep a private client record of the pieces you have commissioned or bought, and of whether a message is about a purchase, a commission, or care. That record stays inside the house.
2. How we use it
We use personal information to:
- design, make, deliver, repair, and care for a piece;
- answer a message or hold a private appointment;
- send the letters you asked for, and stop when you unsubscribe;
- take payment, arrange insured delivery, and keep tax and accounting records;
- protect the site and the house against fraud or misuse;
- keep the email address or phone number you submit, in our own database, so we can answer you or keep the path you saved;
- if you accept, measure clicks and scrolls, and review a session replay, so we can see where the site is unclear.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use it to build a public profile of you.
3. Measurement
This site does not run third-party advertising. Measurement, if you accept it, is clicks, scrolls, and a session replay of the visit, so we can see which pages help and where a journey stalls. It is not used to follow you across other companies’ sites, and it is not given your email address or phone number. Those stay in our database with the message, booking, letter, or save you sent. Any cookie that is not required to run the site, including measurement and replay, stays off until you accept it in the cookie bar. Declining leaves them off.
4. Who receives it
We share personal information only as far as the work requires:
- people in the house who are making, delivering, or caring for your piece, or answering you;
- payment, delivery, and email providers, who act on our instructions;
- professional advisers, and public authorities when the law requires it.
We do not share personal information for another company’s own marketing.
5. How long we keep it
Order and client records are kept while a piece is in your care, and for the period tax and accounting law requires after that. A message, a booking, a saved path, and the email address or phone number that came with it are kept until the matter is closed, and then for a short archive. A letter address or number is kept until you unsubscribe. A session replay, if you accepted measurement, is kept only for the period the measurement tool allows, and is not tied in that tool to your email or phone. Your cookie choice is stored on this device so we do not ask on every visit; you can clear it in your browser, or open Cookies in the footer and choose again.
6. Your choices
Letters include a way to unsubscribe, and you may also write to [email protected]. You may ask us what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We will do so unless we have to keep a record of a sale, a repair, or a legal claim. Marketing messages stop when you unsubscribe. Messages about an order you have placed continue until that order is complete.
7. Cookies
Cookies are small files placed on your device. We use a strictly necessary cookie, or the same kind of local storage, to remember whether you accepted or declined non-essential cookies. That choice is required for the bar to stay closed. With your acceptance, we may use further cookies to measure clicks and scrolls, and to record a session replay. Those cookies are not set, and those tools are not started, unless you accept. Declining leaves only the choice itself. You can reopen the bar from Cookies in the footer, and you can clear cookies in your browser.
8. Other websites
A link to Instagram, Pinterest, a press mention, or any other site leaves this notice behind. That site has its own practices.
9. Updates
When this notice changes, we post the new date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use information we already hold, we will say so on the site, or by email if we have your address for that purpose.

11. Where you live
Europe, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland
ANAMCARA, Gent, Belgium, is the controller. We process information to perform a contract with you (an order, a commission, or care), because the law requires it (tax and accounts), with your consent (letters, and non-essential cookies), or for our legitimate interests in answering you, securing the site, and keeping an accurate client record. Those interests are weighed against your rights.
You may ask for access, correction, erasure, restriction, or a copy of information you provided, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may withdraw consent at any time. You may also complain to the Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit in Belgium, or to the authority where you live. If a provider processes information outside your country, we use a lawful transfer tool, such as standard contractual clauses, where the law requires one.
The United States
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising. You may ask to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. If we decline, you may appeal by writing again with “Appeal” in the subject line. We will not treat you differently for making a request. We do not disclose personal information to outside companies for their own direct marketing.
Canada
You may ask for access to the personal information we hold and for a correction. Commercial email is sent only with your consent, and each letter tells you how to stop. A service provider outside Canada may process information on our instructions.
Everywhere else
If you write to us from another country, this notice applies together with any right your local law says we cannot set aside. Write to the address above and we will tell you what we can do.
